roonee Hello, I’m Alex and I’m the creator and curator of Roonee.com! Most of the articles you’ll find across the site are from me, although I have a small team that sometimes contribute with their own posts and articles.
I’ve been an avid traveller for as long as I can remember, and take particular joy in solo travel. I love exploring new places without being tied to what anyone else wants to see or do, and there isn’t an awful lot on the net about solo female travel so I thought I’d start posting about it! Since starting to post here, a number of other solo female travellers have been in touch which has been wonderful, and a community is starting to form!
When I’m not on the go, I can usually be found spending time with my wonderful twin children, or discussing environmentalism, something I am incredibly passionate about. My family life and love of the environment bleed into the way I travel, as you may have noticed if you’ve read any articles on Roonee.com. When I’m not adventuring completely alone, I often travel alone with my twins, navigating the many obstacles that are in the way of travel as a solo mum with kids, and I’m always on the look out for ways to make my travel habits more sustainable and earth conscious.
Aside from Roonee.com, I write a personal blog where you can find various musings and rants about all things relating to being a plus size, environmentalist twin-mum!
