I have been on the hunt for truly versatile jewellery that’s great quality for a long time, and have struggled to find anything that fits the bill. This is always what I look for when it comes to jewellery to travel with, as I almost always like to travel exceptionally light, and would much rather take a select few pieces with me that will be perfect for any outfit and situation, than take a whole jewellery box full of different necklaces and earrings. Finally, after years of not quite finding the right thing, I have come across Daisy London.
You only have to spend a few minutes on the Daisy London website to get an idea of all the beautiful pieces of jewellery on offer. Everything is stunning, high quality, and sustainable, which is simply not something I often come across.
While I was looking for pieces that would be ideal to travel with that I could take with me on all my solo travel adventures this time around, any of the jewellery would also make the most perfect gift, and I’ve already made notes of a few things that would be absolutely perfect for friends and family members!
My new travel jewellery
So, which pieces of jewellery did I get from Daisy London? I chose a necklace and a pair of earrings, although I am sorely tempted to go back and pick a few more things. I opted for the Estée Lalonde Octagonal Necklace 18Ct Gold Plate and the Wild Daisies Drop Earrings 18ct Gold Plate and am overjoyed with my choices. The necklace is sleek and stylish (much more so than most of the jewellery I already own), and I honestly think it’s going to go with pretty much any outfit, whether I am dressed up or down! The earrings are my idea of perfection – I have always loved dangly earrings, but I am forever loosing hook earrings and ending up with one lonely earring sitting in my jewellery box. This pair from Daisy are dangly, but they clasp around my ear lobe, meaning there’s no chance of me managing to loose them – this is especially good news for travel and on the go! Being a floral enthusiast, I also love the little wild daisy details on the body of the earrings. From afar, they just look like pretty earrings, but as you get close up, you see the delightful design.
If you’ve been here a while, you’ll know that sustainability is never very far from my mind, and the sustainable aspect of Daisy London is what really sold the brand to me. There is a whole dedicated page on the website where you can read about the company’s sustainability policy, and another where you can read about their plastic pledge. In essence, Daisy London have teamed up with 4ocean to remove 90g of plastic from the ocean for every single item that’s bought from the company. 90g of plastic is equivalent to about 10 small plastic water bottles, so you can imagine how this quickly adds up to make an impact!
Some other notable parts of the company’s sustainability policy is that all jewellery pieces are made from 100% recycled silver, and that the company on the whole is carbon positive, and they offset three times the amount of carbon that they generate. In my eyes, this is incredible and highly commendable, when so many other companies are failing to meet the standards to be carbon neutral.
